Section: How to use Tidy

## Create it

From the budget, click **Send to proposal** and confirm. Or go to **Proposals**, click **Create proposal**, pick the project and choose where to start: **Company defaults**, **Blank** or **Copy of an existing proposal**.

## Fill it in order

The editor's **Build in this order** strip takes you through the steps:

1. **Project**: check each client and the contact who gets it.
2. **Dates**: set the **Proposal date** and **Valid until**. Pick **Itemized** or **Lump sum** display.
3. **Line items**: check the lines from the budget. Add bullets that describe the scope. Tag extras **Alternate** or **Optional**.
4. Check the totals, tax, terms, inclusions and exclusions.

Watch the live preview on the right as you go.

## Send it

1. Click **Send**. Tidy lists anything missing, such as a contact with no email.
2. The **Submit Bid** dialog opens with the PDF attached. Each client gets their own copy.
3. Write the message or click **Generate with AI**, then send.

The proposal revision is locked, and the bid moves to **Submitted**.

## Revise it

When the client asks for a new number:

1. Set the bid to **Needs Revision** if it is not already.
2. Open the proposal and click **Revise**. Tidy copies the last sent revision forward.
3. Make the changes. **Compare** shows exactly what changed.
4. Send again.
